Celebrating my Birthday in Style - Kong Restaurant, Paris
Updated: Mar 22, 2018

On the 27th December I celebrated my 31st anniversary, and I must confess that it's still really hard for me to believe that I am not in my twenties anymore, time went by very fast. I used to think that by 30 I would already be married with a least one baby, I didn't have any plans for a career or for an alternative source of income, the truth is that even though I've been taking care of myself for as long as I remember in the back of my mind I think I was always waiting for a prince charming to come and save me from all of my problems. This supposed prince would be everything I ever needed in my life and when he found me everything would magically turn out right, my financial problems (because of course he would be rich lol), my emotional problems (because he would understand all of my humor swings), my lack of self confidence (because he would make me feel like there is no woman more beautiful than me), just to name a few of my expectations. Of course as I grew older I started to realise that my expectations were surreal, I had to because time was a passing and this perfect man never even bothered to make an appeareance.
What I know now as a 31 years old woman is that good things take time; there is no such thing as a perfect man or woman; no one can solve your problems but yourself; you cannot save anyone but yourself; and in order to have a healthy life you need to have a healthy mind. That is what I am walkig towards, a healthy mind.
So as there is no Prince Charming to pamper me (lol) I decided to offer myself a chic birthday dinner in a beautiful Japanese restaurant in Paris, the Kong.

Entrance to the Kong Restaurant
It is located on the center of Paris on the 1st arrondissement. I didn't know what to expect when I went to this restaurant, I've read some good reviews and some really bad ones. It is mandatory to make a reservation to dine there and you need to fill a form with your bank details in order for the reservation to be confirmed, if you fail to cancel or to inform that one of your guests will not show up, they charge 60eur from your card. I honestly thought this was a little too strict, but it is an effective way of preventing last minute cancellations.

My outfit for the night
When I got there with a friend I was made to wait on the bar for the rest of my guests to arrive. The staff was always extremelly polite and made us feel at ease.

When my guests arrived we where taken to the top floor that is like a glass dome with a beautiful view of Paris buildings. The decoration is very original and the food was great.
I honestly have no complaints about this restaurant and will most likely go back there.
